Upcoming Events
We have scheduled events for caregivers to gather in different settings:
On Tuesday, January 20th, from 5-8pm we will hold another Meet and Greet at Hopothecary Ales. This was a great event in October and allowed caregivers of special education students and SEPAC supporters to casually meet and mingle, and enjoy some good food and drink.
On Saturday, February 7th, from 10am-noon at the Flint Memorial Library Activity Room, we will hold a discussion group for caregivers of special education students to share experiences working with the District and identify common themes. Some discussion prompts will be offered, and coffee and snacks will be available.
We also have 2 more events scheduled:
On Wednesday, February 11, from 7-8:30pm in the Library Activity Room, SEPAC is collaborating with the NR Commission on Disabilities and NR Human Rights Group to hold a joint book discussion group on the book "Disability Visibility" edited by Alice Wong.
On Tuesday, March 10, from 6-7pm, a mediator from the Bureau of Special Education Appeals (Bureau of Special Education Appeals | Mass.gov) will present a webinar regarding mediation which is sometimes utilized by the District and families when disagreements arise. The webinar will allow listeners to learn when mediation is appropriate, when and how to request mediation, how to prepare for mediation, and more. Stay tuned for the link, available in March.
